1. Introduction

QURTAS TURNER is committed to delivering high-quality design and manufacturing services in Qatar while maintaining a safe working environment for all employees and stakeholders. This Safety Plan outlines our comprehensive approach to identifying, managing, and mitigating safety risks across all operations, including Kwik Span Shades, Fabric/HDPE/Shade Solutions, Steel Works, Mechanical Works, Aluminum Works, and UPVC Works.

2. Safety Objectives

  • Prevent accidents and injuries through proactive safety measures.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Continuously enhance safety practices and procedures.

3. Scope

Applicable to all QURTAS TURNER operations:

  • Design and development
  • Manufacturing and assembly
  • Installation and maintenance
  • Site and workplace safety

4. Safety Management System (SMS)

  • Standards: Adherence to Qatar Labour Law, IOSH, NEBOSH, and other safety guidelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date safety records and policies.
  • Training: Provide mandatory safety training for all personnel.

5. Risk Assessment and Management

  • Conduct thorough risk identification and evaluation.
  • Prioritize risks based on impact.
  • Implement mitigation strategies: engineering controls, administrative actions, PPE.

6. Safety Procedures

  • Workplace Safety: Signage, access control, and emergency exits.
  • Equipment Safety: Regular inspections and maintenance of tools and machinery.
  • PPE: Provide and enforce use of safety gear (helmets, gloves, glasses).

7. Emergency Preparedness

  • Develop and maintain a detailed emergency response plan.
  • Conduct regular emergency drills.
  • Equip sites with first aid kits and train personnel in first aid and CPR.

8. Safety Communication

  • Hold regular safety meetings and briefings.
  • Implement a hazard and incident reporting system.
  • Issue bulletins to share safety updates and regulatory changes.

9. Incident Management

  • Establish a clear process for incident reporting and documentation.
  • Investigate incidents to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and secure incident records.

10. Contractor & Subcontractor Safety

  • Pre-qualify contractors based on safety performance.
  • Ensure compliance with QURTAS TURNER’s safety standards.
  • Monitor ongoing contractor activities for safety adherence.

11. Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
  • Collect and act on feedback from stakeholders.
  • Update the Safety Plan based on new regulations and technologies.
